How to setup email in Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird
  2. From the Tools menu, choose Account Settings
  3. Click the Add Account button.
  4. Select Email account and click the Next Button.
  5. Enter Your Name as you want it to appear.
  6. Enter your full email address username@yourdomain.com in the 'Email address:' field.
  7. Click on the Next button.
  8. Select POP3 or IMAP
  9. Enter mail.yourdomain.com in the 'Incoming Server:' field.
  10. Click on the Next button.
  11. Enter your full email address username@yourdomain.com in the Incoming User Name field.
  12. Click on the Next button.
  13. Enter the name you want to refer to this email account in the Account Name field.
  14. Click on the Next button.
  15. You are almost done setting up your email.
  16. Click Next
  17. Highlight the Outgoing Server (SMTP)
  18. Click on the Edit button.
  19. Select the Use name and password check box
  20. Fill in your entire email address in the User Name field.
  21. Click on OK
  22. Close the Account Settings window

    Now you have completed the setup of your Thunderbird email program.
