Backing up / Restoring your VPS
The control panel included with your vps, Virtuozzo Power Panel, includes a simple method to backup your VPS. This guide will walk you through backing up and restoring your VPS using Virtuozzo Power Panel.
Creating a backup Actions:
- Go to your Virtuozzo Power Panel - http://YOUR_IP:4643/
- Login with your root username and password.
- From the menu on the left, click on "Maintenance" (this should be the fourth option from the top in the menu "VPS Management").
- If you have not created a backup before, simply click on "New Backup".
- Wait about 30 seconds and click on "Maintenance" again from the left hand menu (you can track the progress by clicking the "details" link in the green bar that will appear at the top of the page). You should now see a backup listed.
Restoring a backup Actions:
- Go to your Virtuozzo Power Panel - http://YOUR_IP:4643/
- Login with your root username and password.
- From the menu on the left, click on "Maintenance" (this should be the fourth option from the top in the menu "VPS Management").
- Check the box next to the backup you wish to restore.
- Click the "Restore VPS" button.
- You'll then be asked to confirm your decision to restore the VPS, click "Restore" to continue.
- Wait about 60 seconds and click on "Maintenance" again from the left hand menu (you can track the progress by clicking the "details" link in the green bar that will appear at the top of the page). You should see at the top of the page in the very centre "VPS is running at the moment". If you see something else it most likely means that the restore is still in progress, try again shortly.
